Capitec makes use of in-app notifications when asking customers for MFA, or Multifactor Authentication, for security purposes. These are notifications presented via the Capitec app installed on your device. It's important that you have an internet data connection to receive these notifications.
This form of notification is required from Capitec users when:
- Logging into your account
- Initiating payments
- Adding a beneficiary
