There are a number of reasons why a payment could fail and return a paymentinitiationfailed status see below reasons you may come across these failed payment errors:
| Reason | Description |
| insufficient_fund | The payment failed due to an insufficient_fund |
| limits_exceeded | The payment failed due to account limits exceeded (click here for more) |
| blocked | The payment failed due to a blocked account (click here for more) |
| declined | The payment has been declined (by the upstream entity). |
| payment_pending | Error marking a payment as complete. Please get in touch with the Stitch team if you encounter this error. |
| unknown | The payment failed due to an unknown error. Please get in touch with the Stitch team if you encounter this error. |
| timeout |
The payment failed due to a timeout |
